Study the Bible deeply, and never lose what you find.
Anchor Word is a free Bible app that keeps your reading, your notes and the original Hebrew and Greek in one place.
Free, with no ads and no account. Android only for now.
23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
A note called “Sunday, on faithfulness” that links Hebrews 10:23, which opens over the note.
John 3:16 with word study on. Tapping “loved” shows the Greek ἀγαπάω, Strong’s G25, to love, used 145 times in the King James.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
A search for “love one another” finds its 12 verses word for word, then verses that say nearly the same thing, such as Romans 12:10.
Write the reference. The verse comes to you.
Most Bible apps give you a text box beside the verse. Anchor Word's notes understand Scripture as you write it.
The Greek and Hebrew behind the words.
Turn on word study and the words of the King James carry the Hebrew or Greek they translate. It's a free download inside the app.
Search that meets you halfway.
Type what you remember. Anchor Word finds the exact words first, then the verses that say nearly the same thing, and shows you every one of them.
No limit on results: search for “the” and it lists all 23,560 verses, and says so.
Anywhere in the Bible, in a few keystrokes.
Turn to a passage the way you'd write it down, or find it by the words you remember when you can't place it.
Six themes, each with a light side and a dark one.
Paper is where the app starts. Try the others here: they're the app's own colours, and this whole page changes to the one you pick, as the app would.
Follows the system setting.
Your choice is kept on this device for your next visit, and sent nowhere.
Everything else a Bible app should do.

Anchor Word is free, and in testing on Google Play. Before a new app goes public, Google asks for people to use it for two weeks. Joining takes two minutes. Use the Google account your phone's Play Store is signed into.
- Join the testers' group. Being in it is what lets Google Play show you the test.Join the group
- Become a tester, then install from Google Play. If Play says something went wrong, give it a few minutes and try again.Become a tester
- Stay a tester for 14 days. Google lets a new app go public only once 12 testers have stayed with it for 14 days in a row, so leaving and joining again starts your 14 days over. New versions come from Google Play.
Already have Anchor Word from this page? Install from Google Play over it, without uninstalling first. Your notes stay where they are.
On a computer? Both steps work here too, and Google Play installs the app on your phone.
Not on Google Play, or in the United Kingdom? Install it from a file.
The test isn't offered in the United Kingdom yet. The same app installs from a file, and keeps itself up to date.
- On your Android phone, tap Download. Your browser may warn that this kind of file can harm your device. It says that about any app from outside the Play Store, so tap Download anyway.
- Open the file. Android asks whether your browser may install apps. Allow it.
- Play Protect may offer to scan it, as it does any app from outside the Play Store. Let it.
- That's the last file you'll need. New versions come to you inside the app.
Or get it from the release page on GitHub.
